If you are looking for a silicon dioxide manufacturer in India for pharmaceutical use, MLA Group offers USP grade silicon dioxide with defined quality specifications. Our material is a fine, white, odorless and amorphous powder with a SiO₂ content of 99.6%. The average particle size is controlled at 5–7 microns. Explore our pharmaceutical excipients portfolio to learn more about our product range.
Along with silica purity, we check parameters such as pH, moisture, chloride, sulfate, arsenic and heavy metals. This gives pharmaceutical buyers the information they need before selecting the material for their application.

Silicon dioxide for pharmaceutical applications
Silicon dioxide is used in pharmaceutical manufacturing because of its physical properties. It is a fine powder that can absorb water and has good flow characteristics. These properties can be useful when handling powders or working with formulations where moisture absorption and powder flow need to be considered.
Our pharmaceutical-grade material is white, odorless and amorphous. The particle size is not left open-ended either. We specify an average size of 5–7 microns, giving buyers a clearer idea of the material they will receive.
The right grade still depends on the formulation and how the ingredient is going to be used. For this reason, customers can discuss their specific requirements with our team and learn more about our research and development capabilities before finalising the product.
What do we check in silicon dioxide?
Silica content is one of the first things buyers usually look at, but it is not the only parameter we check.
Our specification requires the assay to be not less than 99.0% SiO₂, while the product description gives a specified SiO₂ content of 99.6%. We also check the pH, which is required to remain between 4 and 8 in a 1-in-20 slurry.
Moisture is covered through the loss-on-drying test, with a limit of not more than 5%. Loss on ignition is specified at not more than 8.5%.
There are also limits for chloride and sulfate. Chloride should not be more than 0.1%, while sulfate should remain within 0.5%. For trace impurities, arsenic is limited to 3 ppm and heavy metals to 0.003%.
These are the checks that help us keep the product within its defined specification. Learn more about our quality control and testing processes.
Fine particle size and powder quality
Particle size can matter when a pharmaceutical ingredient is being processed or mixed with other materials. Our silicon dioxide has an average particle size of 5–7 microns.
The material is supplied as a white, free-flowing powder. It is also amorphous and odourless. Along with these physical properties, its water absorption is another characteristic buyers may consider when evaluating it for a particular formulation.
Rather than treating all silicon dioxide products as the same, we recommend checking the required grade, particle size and quality parameters against the needs of your formulation.
Why buy silicon dioxide from MLA Group?
When you are choosing a silicon dioxide supplier in India, product specifications should be clear from the beginning. At MLA Group, we provide defined quality parameters for our USP grade material, including silica content, particle size, moisture and impurity limits.
Our focus is on supplying a consistent pharmaceutical-grade powder with the information needed for technical evaluation. If you have a particular particle-size, grade or documentation requirement, you can speak with our team before placing your order.
