What is bentonite?
Bentonite is a naturally occurring mineral material and is supplied as a fine powder. Its coloration can be from white to pale yellowish brown; we provide only white bentonite.
One of the key features of bentonite is what takes place when it is combined with water. The powder will absorb water and swell, which can be useful in products that require a thicker consistency or suspension support.
The JP test report of our material shows pH 9.6, which is within the range of 9.0–10.5. The identification requirements for the grade were also met by the tested sample.
In terms of solubility, the material is practically insoluble in water and diethyl ether, as specified in the JP requirements.

Lead and arsenic are listed as being less than 50 ppm and 2 ppm, respectively, and satisfied the required specifications. Foreign matter analysis was conducted using a 200-mesh sieve.
Two important properties of bentonite are gel formation and swelling power. The tested bentonite satisfied the requirements for gel formation and swelling power, with a sediment volume of not less than 20 mL.
