Aluminium Stearate is a white or slightly yellow powder, mainly used as a heat stabilizer and lubricant for PVC plastics, anti-settling agent and drier in the paint industry, waterproofing agent for fabrics, thickening agent for lubricating oil, etc. It is insoluble in water, ethanol, ether, but soluble in solvents such as alkali, turpentine, mineral oil, petroleum, kerosene, and benzene. It forms a thixotropic gel on heating with mineral oils and solvents which is the main premise of its use and design. We have hi-gel, supergel and non-gel grades.
