SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF SHORT TERM EXPOSURE:
Inhalation : Calcium Silicate dust can cause temporary irritation of the
nose, throat and upper respiratory tract.Skin Contact : Possible irritation
from overexposure to dust. Eye Contact : Transient mechanical irritation.Ingestion
: Not expected to be an important route of entry into the body. Ingestion
of large amounts of the product may cause irritation of the mouth, esophagus
and stomach.EFFECTS OF LONG TERM (CHRONIC) EXPOSURE:Long-term exposure
to respirable fine dust is a known cause of bronchitis, a non-cancerous
lung disease. OTHER IMPORTANT HAZARDS:Refer section 11
SECTION 4
FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation : Remove to fresh air. Drink water to clear throat and blow
nose to evacuate dust. Seek medical attention if irritation and breathing
difficulties persist.Skin contact : Wash with mild soap and water. Seek
medical attention should irritation persist.Eye contact : Flush with copious
amounts of water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention should irritation
persist.Ingestion: Non-hazardous when ingested. Potentially a mild irritation
to the GI tract if excessive quantity is ingested.
